Kristin Molinaroli is an American businesswoman, inventor and engineer. She was the Chairperson of Sunoco from 2001 to 2011, and she has been a member of the Board since 1992. Her fascination with all things mechanical started at an early age when her father would bring home broken appliances for her to fix. Her talent for finding ways to take complex systems apart and put them back together made her a great candidate for engineering school where she graduated with honors in 1982.

Kristin Molinaroli’s greatest achievement so far has been becoming CEO of Sunoco in 2001 while holding other positions on its board since 1992 – making her the first woman ever to be appointed as CEO of a Fortune 500 company without any prior professional experience from inside the company.

In addition to being a businesswoman,she is also a mother of three and an inventor with several patents to her name, including a flexible device for managing the flow of liquids in pipelines. She is a supporter of STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) education and a great believer in equal opportunities.

In 2007, she was honored as one of “Women’s Health” magazine’s Hottest Women on the Planet Must See ABS. In 2011,Kristin Molinaroli was ranked #19 on the list of “most powerful women” by Forbes.

In 2013, she was named 25th in The Wall Street Journal’s “50 Women to Watch”. In 2015, she earned a spot on Fortune Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women list for a second time, placing at number 38.

Under her leadership, Sunoco’s revenues grew from $12 billion in 2001 to $42 billion in 2011 and its market capitalization increased by over 500 percent.
